How to make a blog...

 Well, I'm on my way towards learning how to make and maintain a blog.  Here is my first entry, something I probably should have done ages ago.  No time like the present!  I look forward to figuring out how to change the couch picture at the top of the page... or maybe I shouldn't, since the reality is, with a broken ankle, I'll be spending a lot of time on the couch over the next few weeks.
